Felix Magath: 'Victory will give us confidence'

Felix Magath admits that he is now even more convinced of Fulham's hopes of survival following victory over Newcastle United.

Fulham manager Felix Magath has admitted that he is now even more convinced of his side's survival hopes following victory over Newcastle United.

The 1-0 win for the Cottagers, courtesy of Ashkan Dejagah's 68th-minute winner, leaves them within four points of safety in the Premier League.

"I do not care much about the other results," Magath is quoted as saying by ESPN. "We have to do our work and we have to do our results. It was not only the result today. We were the better team.

"It will give us the confidence that we can avoid relegation and stay in the league. I'm convinced that we can manage it and stay in the league. After this game and this victory I'm more than convinced."

Fulham are back in action next weekend with a visit to face Manchester City.
