Jol talks up Fulham ambition

Fulham manager Martin Jol has said that the club and its owner Mohamed Al-Fayed are ambitious.

Former boss Mark Hughes recently revealed that the reason he left the club was because they lacked ambition. The claim led Al-Fayed to brand the Welshman a "flop".

However, Jol believes that the club are going places.

"I think he is very ambitious and I feel we are, so for me that is no problem," he told Sky Sports News.

"If Mark Hughes felt that was true then that is his opinion. It is not an opinion I support.

"[Al Fayed] has supported us with the things we do. I can't even say most of the time as it is all of the time that he tries to do something."

The Cottagers travel to Wigan Athletic in the Premier League on Saturday.
