Fulham's Zdenek Grygera sidelined for six months

Grygera faces six-month layoff

Fulham defender Zdenek Grygera is expected to be ruled out for six months after suffering ruptured knee ligaments at the weekend.

The 31-year-old was dealt the long-term blow during the side's 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

"The club can confirm that Zdenek Grygera suffered an ACL rupture during the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, November 6," said a statement on the club's official website.

"It is estimated that the recovery period for an injury of this nature is approximately six months.

"The club will update further on Zdenek's progress during the course of his rehabilitation."

The Czech Republic international has started five matches under new boss Martin Jol this season.
