Bobby Zamora content to rest

Fulham striker Bobby Zamora has admitted that he is happy to be rested by manager Martin Jol as he looks to recover from an ankle injury.

The 30-year-old sat out Thursday's 1-1 Europa League draw with FC Twente, but returned yesterday to help Fulham come back from two goals down to claim a point against Manchester City.

Despite being keen to feature in every match, Zamora has accepted that he may be dropped for European games.

"In terms of my ankle, I'd rather rest to be honest," he said. "Obviously, I want to play.

"The European nights are nice but, at the minute, we want to get points in the Premier League.

"The gaffer said, 'We'll rest you for this one', so I can come on or whatever."

Zamora has made one international appearance for England, coming on as a substitute against Hungary in 2010.
