Half-Time Report: Stuart Dallas snatches lead for Brentford against Fulham

Stuart Dallas puts Brentford ahead with a one-goal lead against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Stuart Dallas has given Brentford a 1-0 lead against Fulham at the half-time whistle of their Championship clash at Craven Cottage.

The home side came closest to opening the scoring at Craven Cottage when Alex Kacaniklic received a ball over the top and turned to find space in the box.

He unleashed a thumping shot, but it was saved by Brentford goalkeeper David Button at his near post.

Frustration grew among the Fulham fans when the referee decided against issuing a card to Jonathan Douglas following a reckless challenge on James Husband, and their discontent built further when Brentford took the lead.

Northern Ireland's Dallas was allowed plenty of room on the edge of the box, and with no Fulham players closing him down, the winger drilled a low attempt into the bottom corner.

The home side tried to get back into the clash before the half-time whistle, but Danny Guthrie's header went over the crossbar after Cauley Woodrow's 25-yard effort failed to reach the goal.
