Hugo Lloris backs Karim Benzema to end drought

Lloris backs Benzema to end drought

France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris has declared that Karim Benzema can end his international goal drought by firing Les Blues to victory against Spain tonight.

Didier Deschamps' side take on the reigning champions in Paris tonight, hoping to defend a two-point advantage and keep their World Cup qualifying campaign on track.

Benzema has gone over 900 minutes without a goal for his country, but Lloris is adamant that the Real Madrid forward has the squad's full backing.

He told reporters at the pre-match press conference: "Benzema has no problem in the France team, he is very well respected.

"He has scored in the past and he will in the future.

"Of course he's going through a tough period, but sooner or later he will find the back of the net again."

French boss Deschamps has also defended his star striker ahead of tonight's Group I clash.
