France's Patrice Evra urges "arrogance" against Spain

Evra: 'We must be arrogant'

France international defender Patrice Evra believes that his side need to be arrogant to defeat Spain at home on Tuesday.

Les Bleus will host the reigning European and world champions in a World Cup Group I qualifier at Stade de France in Saint-Denis.

"It's not a final," ESPN quotes him as saying. "It's not because we win against Spain or that you draw that we'll be through to the World Cup, that's why I don't like to say it's a final.

"It's a big match, a big occasion. After the first game against them, we have to back that up, while also keeping our feet on the ground.

"We have to respect Spain, be confident and also have a little arrogance. We're in a good position. The tide is turning our way."

France will head into the encounter two points ahead of second-placed Spain at the top of Group I.
