How France could line up against Tunisia

France manager Didier Deschamps is expected to make several changes for Wednesday's World Cup 2022 Group D clash with Tunisia at the Education City Stadium.

The reigning champions sealed a place in the last 16 after beating Denmark 2-1 at the weekend, and they need only draw on Wednesday to progress as group winners.

Deschamps has a fresh concern to report with goalkeeper Alphonse Areola (back), so Steve Mandanda could earn a rare opportunity in place of Hugo Lloris here, although the West Ham United man has returned to full training.

Even though Raphael Varane has only just come back from a hamstring issue, the Manchester United man is reportedly set to hold his place, but Ibrahima Konate can expect a recall.

Benjamin Pavard is in line to return at right-back, and Deschamps is understood to be considering a left-back role for Eduardo Camavinga to ease the pressure on Theo Hernandez.

Matteo Guendouzi and Youssouf Fofana are both vying for starts in the Bleus engine room, but Kylian Mbappe - who came up with both goals against Denmark - supposedly has no intention of being rested.

Should the 23-year-old's desire to play ultimately win over, he could be joined by two new faces in Marcus Thuram and Kingsley Coman in the forward line.

France possible starting lineup: Mandanda; Pavard, Konate, Varane, Camavinga; Guendouzi, Fofana; Coman, Griezmann, Mbappe; Thuram
