Steven Schumacher: 'Fleetwood Town can step up'

Fleetwood Town midfielder Steven Schumacher believes that Fleetwood Town can step up if they win promotion to League One.

Steven Schumacher has insisted that Fleetwood Town can make the "step" to League One if they win their playoff final on Monday.

The club are seeking their sixth promotion in 10 years when they face Burton Albion in the League Two playoff final at Wembley Stadium.

The midfielder told Sky Sports News: "It is a massive step but it's nothing that this club isn't used to.

"It's stepped up five times in however many years and each time they've stepped up they've managed to kick on. We just need to get there and see what happens next year.

"Everyone is aware of the success this club has had over the last few years. It's important you don't take that success for granted, it doesn't just come, people don't give you anything. We need to be at our best on Monday."

Fleetwood finished fourth in the table.
