Nani urges Robin van Persie to join him at Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce winger Nani has said that he believes former Manchester United teammate Robin van Persie will be a major success should he join him in Turkey.

The 28-year-old completed a £4.25m switch to Fener on Monday afternoon to bring an end to his eight-year spell at Old Trafford.

Van Persie has been tipped to follow the Portuguese to Fenerbahce this summer, and Nani believes it would be a good move for all involved.

"I haven't had the chance to talk with Robin van Persie yet," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "But if he comes to Fenerbahce, I am sure that he will be very successful. I know Robin very well and it would be right decision if Fenerbahce sign him."

Nani won 11 major trophies during his time at United, including four Premier League titles and the Champions League.
