Falkirk defeat 10-man Raith Rovers to maintain playoff hopes

Falkirk defeat 10-man Raith Rovers 1-0 to stay fourth in the Scottish Championship.

Falkirk retained their place in the Scottish Championship playoffs by beating 10-man Raith Rovers 1-0 this afternoon.

Mark Stewart went close for the visitors, but was denied by Jamie MacDonald after being fed through by Barrie McKay.

Neither side could break the deadlock in the first half, but Liam Fox was sent off in injury time after a late challenge on Luke Leahy.

In the second period, Will Vaulks scored his third goal in five games, heading in from Blair Alston's cross to put the hosts ahead just after the hour mark.

Falkirk held on to claim the win, leaving them in fourth place, two positions above Rovers.
