Everton defender Yerry Mina confirms that he will leave the Merseyside club when his contract expires next month.

Everton defender Yerry Mina has announced that he will leave the club this summer.

Since joining the Toffees from Barcelona in 2018, Mina has made 98 appearances for the club, contributing nine goals and one assist.

Mina has struggled for playing time for the majority of the 2022-23 season, featuring in just seven competitive games.

However, the centre-back has started the last three matches for the club and scored a dramatic stoppage-time equaliser against Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

Despite recently returning to the starting lineup, Mina has announced that he will leave Everton when his contract expires next month.

The Colombia international confirmed his imminent departure in a video message posted on his Instagram on Saturday evening.

"Hello Toffees, I hope you are good," Mina said. "I have a message and invitation for you. This Sunday I will play my last game for Everton Football Club.

"It's time to say goodbye after five years together. I want to say thank you, for your support and love.

"It has been a privilege and honour to wear this shirt and represent you. For this reason I invite you all to attend this 'Last Dance' at Goodison Park, this last battle that we have to fight.

"We need your help and your fight. Because together we are going to stay in the Premier League, where this great club should always be. It will be a special moment, full of emotion and memories.

"I am sure that we will make it. Come on boys. Last push. Come on boys. We are together. Yes Toffees!"

Everton head into today's home game against Bournemouth with a two-point gap to relegation rivals Leicester City and Leeds United.

The Toffees will secure their survival with a victory, while anything less than a win will leave them relying on results elsewhere.
