Everton target further signings

Everton assistant manager Steve Round admits that the club are looking to bring in some more signings

Everton are still hoping to bring in new signings despite the fact that there are only three days left of the transfer window.

Steven Pienaar, Steven Naismith and Kevin Mirallas have all moved to Goodison Park already this summer, but assistant manager Steve Round reveals there could be further arrivals.

The Toffees have been linked with Michael Owen and Johnny Russell, but while Round wouldn't discuss specific targets, he did confirm that they are still in the market.

"We are a couple short and a bit thin on the ground, that is a job for the manager and the chairman," said Round.

"It's not easy at this stage and if we do, great. If we don't then we are still very happy with the squad we have got."

Everton's 100% start to the Premier League has seen some of their own players impress potential suitors, but Round insisted that no-one will be leaving.

He added: "There are only a few days left in the transfer window and I don't think anyone will be leaving now, that's for sure."

Everton begin their League Cup campaign tomorrow, facing Leyton Orient at home.
