Everton are reportedly interested in signing Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz in the summer, with the 22-year-old out of contract.

Everton are interested in signing Blackburn Rovers striker Ben Brereton Diaz, according to a report.

The 22-year-old is thriving this season in the Championship, having played 30 games, scoring 20 goals in the process, proving himself vital to Tony Mowbray's plans.

However, the Chile international is out of contract with the club in the summer, although Rovers do have the option to extend that contract by one year if they wish.

According to TEAMtalk, Everton are interested in signing Diaz, and they are monitoring his performances, although they are not the only Premier League team that is doing so.

Of course, there is a real possibility that Blackburn themselves could be operating in the top flight next season, as they currently find themselves within the Championship playoff places.

Everton will be back in action on Sunday as they host Wolverhampton Wanderers.
