Report: Everton close in on Leeds United starlet Sam Byram

Everton close in on Sam Byram?

Everton have reportedly had a bid accepted by Leeds United for Sam Byram.

BBC journalist Adam Pope said on Twitter this evening that a bid of around £4m had been accepted by the Whites for Byram, who is out of contract this summer.

Everton are said to have sent a scout to watch Byram in Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town, and it seems that the Merseyside outfit have now made their move.

Byram was a right-back upon breaking into the Leeds first team three-and-a-half years ago, but he has played in a more advanced wide role this season.

Despite being only 22, the right-sider is currently the top appearance-maker at Leeds, having turned out 143 times for the Yorkshire outfit.

West Ham United are also said to have been interested in making a move for Byram this month.
