Edson Buddle handed Everton trial

Everton have given a trial to American striker Edson Buddle.

The 30-year-old currently plies his trade with German second division side FC Ingolstadt 04, who are now in the middle of a winter break.

Buddle, who has scored three goals for the USA national team, played alongside David Beckham at Los Angeles Galaxy up until 2010.

He has the same agent as current Everton players and fellow countrymen Tim Howard and Landon Donovan.
