Dundee United 0-1 Everton

Ross Barkley's late goal has given Everton a 1-0 win over Dundee United at Tannadice in their second game of pre-season.

Jack Rodwell saw his powerful drive saved by Radoslaw Cierzniak in the first half before Leon Osman's header was turned away by the Polish goalkeeper.

At the other end Johnny Russell should have done better when he lashed his volley over from 15 yards.

With few opportunities going to either side in the second half the visitors went ahead in the 87th minute as substitute Barkley headed in Seamus Coleman's cross.
