Sports Mole previews the Boxing Day clash between Everton and Wigan Athletic at Goodison Park.

Everton welcome Wigan Athletic to Goodison Park on Boxing Day looking to extend their unbeaten run of form in the Premier League.

Saturday's 2-1 win over West Ham United moved the Toffees into fifth spot in the Premier League, level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal after 18 matches.

Wigan, meanwhile, lost 1-0 at home to Arsenal last time out, a result that dropped them into the bottom three at Christmas once more.

The corresponding fixture last season ended in a 3-1 win for Everton, but the last two matches between the sides have ended in score draws.

Everton will once more be without Marouane Fellaini through suspension, while Darron Gibson will also miss the match, having seen red against West Ham at the weekend.

Victor Anichebe could keep his place in the side, however, having scored at the weekend, but Phil Neville is struggling with a muscle complaint.

Wigan could name the same side that started the match against Arsenal, although Jordi Gomez is pushing for a start following his impressive cameo against the Gunners.

Recent form:

Everton: DDWDW
Wigan: LLDLL

Possible lineups:

Everton: Howard; Heitinga, Jagielka, Distin, Baines; Osman, Pienaar, Barkley; Jelavic, Anichebe, Naismith

Wigan: Al Habsi; Stam, Boyce, Figueroa, Beausejour; McCarthy, Jones, McArthur, Maloney; Di Santo, Kone

Sports Mole says: 3-1
