Phil Neville eager to face Manchester United on opening day of season

Everton captain Phil Neville has claimed that he cannot wait to get the new Premier League season underway with Manchester United due to be the Toffees' first obstacle in the campaign.

The 35-year-old will face his former club on the opening day of the 2012-13 season at Goodison Park.

Neville tweeted: "Man Utd at home first game of season what a great start to the season wish it was today!"

Meanwhile, newly-promoted side Southampton will have to go head to head with current league champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on August 18.
