David Moyes insists that his side deserved to lose to Bolton.

Everton manager David Moyes has said that his side deserved to lose after their performance against Bolton last night.

The Toffees took the lead after goalkeeper Tim Howard's clearance looped over opposite number Adam Bogdan and into the back of the net. However, Bolton were able to come from behind to win 2-1, and the Scot insists that it was well deserved.

"We didn't deserve to be in front," he said. "Bolton deserved to win the game so I've got no qualms with the result. You can't perform like that and expect to win.

"I've got no arguments about the result, it was a freak that we were 1-0 up and we'd have taken and should have done better but we could hold onto it.

"I give Bolton a bit of credit, they worked really hard to get the result and we didn't perform as well as we have. Bolton stuck at it and got their deserved reward in the end."

The result leaves Everton in the bottom half of the Premier League table.
