Martinez: Niasse to make "massive impact"

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has backed January deadline-day signing Oumar Niasse to make a "massive impact" following his move from Lokomotiv Moscow.

The Merseyside outfit sealed the capture of the 25-year-old on Monday for a fee of £13.5m.

The attacker, who was previously linked with Manchester United and Chelsea, has put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year contract.

"We're delighted because Oumar is a player we have been following for a long time," Martinez told the club's official website.

"He is the right personality and someone who is in a very good moment of his career. He has had a lot of success in Russia and he brings a different quality to what we already have in our squad. "I'm really pleased to be able to bring in Oumar in this window and we know he's going to have a massive impact going forward. He brings a real hunger and desire to be successful into what is already a strong squad."

Niasse could be eligible to make his debut against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium this weekend.
