Romelu Lukaku: 'The physio told me I had scored'

Romelu Lukaku had to be told by the physio that he had scored Everton's winner at Upton Park this afternoon after injuring himself while finding the target.

Everton forward Romelu Lukaku has admitted that the physio told him that he had scored against West Ham United in the Premier League.

The Belgian hurt himself in the process of scoring the winner at Upton Park this afternoon.

The 20-year-old was dazed following a collision but was pleased to learn that his effort had earned him a goal on his debut.

"I did not even know I had scored," Lukaku told reporters. "I was out of it and the first thing I asked the doctor was 'who scored?' and he said 'you did'."

Lukaku scored the winner after two Leighton Baines's free kicks cancelled out goals from Mark Noble and Ravel Morrison for the Hammers.
