Gareth Barry: "We need to be higher"

Gareth Barry has admitted that Everton have underachieved in the Premier League this season.

Supporters made their feelings known during the 1-1 draw at Watford yesterday afternoon, some of whom called for manager Roberto Martinez to be sacked.

Speaking to reporters, experienced midfielder Barry admitted that he can understand the frustration.

"When you look at our league position, with the players we've got, we need to be higher. You can't argue about that," he said.

"There is a lot of negativity around at the moment. We don't want to finish another season in the bottom half of the table. We need to make sure we start playing better together as a team."

The Toffees are currently 14th in the table with six matches left to play.
