Dominic Calvert-Lewin: 'Everton confidence is growing'

Dominic Calvert-Lewin says that Everton will 'show no fear' against rivals Liverpool next weekend after winning two games on the spin for the first time this season.

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has admitted that confidence is "definitely getting stronger" ahead of his side's Merseyside derby showdown against Liverpool.

The Toffees defeated Huddersfield Town 2-0 in boss Sam Allardyce's first game in charge at the weekend to make it back-to-back victories for the first time this term.

Calvert-Lewin, who scored the killer second in just a fifth league victory of the campaign for Everton last time out, believes that his side are now in a much stronger position heading into the derby compared to a week ago.

"Confidence is definitely stronger ahead of that game," the Liverpool Echo quotes him as saying. "Our performances are getting better by the game, that's two clean sheets in a row, so it's getting there. We have to keep building on that and obviously take it into the next game.

"Obviously with the Merseyside derby coming up on Sunday this was a massive result for us. We go in with more confidence for the game against Liverpool. There is no fear from our side going into the Merseyside derby now. We have much more confidence after the last two games."

Liverpool are back in action prior to next Sunday's clash at Anfield, with the visit of Spartak Moscow in the Champions League to come first.
