Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin will miss Saturday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa through injury.

Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out of Saturday's home meeting with Aston Villa.

Calvert-Lewin's 2022-23 campaign has been disrupted by injury issues, restricting him to just 11 Premier League appearances.

The Englishman was forced off in Everton's 1-0 win over Arsenal on February 4 with a hamstring injury, which has kept him out of the last two games.

Having been unable to call upon Calvert-Lewin through large periods of the season, Everton have struggled to consistently find the net.

Only Dwight McNeil, Demarai Gray and Anthony Gordon, who joined Newcastle United in January, have scored more than one Premier League goal this season.

While Dyche will be desperate to welcome Calvert-Lewin back into the fold, he will be unable to call upon the 25-year-old for Saturday's Premier League clash with Aston Villa at Goodison Park.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Dyche said: "I think he [Calvert-Lewin] is building up well. He's on the grass - he's not with us [in full training] yet but that will come quite quickly, I think.

"Like I said, with human bodies there is no absolute definite but our intention is to get him as fit as possible so we can hopefully break this spell of ins and outs and ups and downs with injuries.

"That's what we're hoping to do, whilst also making sure we have him back as quick as possible because we want all players - not just him - available."

Nathan Patterson and James Garner recently featured for the Under-21s and the latter could be involved on Saturday.

However, Dyche is still expected to be without Patterson, who has since suffered a minor setback, which has stopped him from training this week.

Andros Townsend, meanwhile, remains unavailable as he continues to recover from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

In positive news, Dyche has confirmed that Amadou Onana will be available to take his place in the starting lineup.

The midfielder was regarded as a doubt after picking up a knock against Leeds United last Saturday, but it appears he has recovered in time for the weekend.

Having won two of his first three games in charge, Dyche will be hoping to oversee another positive result against Villa as Everton look to increase their slender one-point gap to the drop zone.
