Everton boss David Moyes sends a warning to his players that Cheltenham Town will fancy their chances of causing an FA Cup upset on Monday night.

Everton manager David Moyes has warned his players that they must be at their best to avoid an upset against Cheltenham Town on Monday night.

Moyes has come agonisingly close to winning the FA Cup in his time at Toffees boss, with Wembley defeats to Chelsea and Liverpool in recent seasons.

League Two outfit Cheltenham represent a potential banana skin in the weekend's final third-round tie, with Moyes insisting that his team selection will show his opponents respect.

He told reporters: "Our players have to play, that's what they're here for. Otherwise, they'll be thrust into the really big games and people have to be ready. We'll have a look at it and see what we plan to do in terms of selection.

"We have seen both sides of it. I can go back to ties we have lost in the early rounds of the Cup, so we know what it's like and how difficult it can be.

"It's not always been the easiest thing in the past, wee have lost at Shrewsbury and Oldham. We are well aware how difficult it will be."

Everton have enjoyed a positive first half of the season and currently lie fifth in the Premier League table.
