Olympiakos scored a vital away goal as they beat Metalist Kharkiv 1-0 in the first leg of their Europa League last-16 tie in the Ukraine this evening.

The decisive goal came five minutes into the second half as David Fuster struck.

Taison and Cleiton Xavier were both off target for the hosts as they tried to salvage something to take into the return leg in Greece.

However, they were met by a dogged Olympiakos defence who were determined to protect their away goal.

Kharkiv's woes were compounded in the final 10 minutes as Edmar was shown a straight red card.
