Wayne Rooney not concerned about where World Cup is held

Rooney not concerned by WC location

England striker Wayne Rooney has dismissed the notion that the World Cup will be extra special next year because it is being held in Brazil.

The Three Lions booked their place in South America next summer with a 2-0 win over Poland on Tuesday evening, and Rooney said that it doesn't matter where the tournament was held.

"Someone asked me that question before, but I think qualifying for the World Cup is all the motivation you need," Rooney told Sky Sports News.

"It doesn't matter where it is [being held], you always want to be there, and it will be great for some of our young players to be involved.

"It's been a good qualifying campaign for myself, we achieved our main aim and I have been scoring goals as well."

Rooney finished as England's top scorer in the campaign, with seven strikes in six games.
