Adam Lallana: 'Gareth Southgate has brought stability'

England midfielder Adam Lallana says that interim boss Gareth Southgate has brought "good stability" to the Three Lions since his appointment.

Midfielder Adam Lallana has praised Gareth Southgate for the role he has played since being appointed as the interim manager of England.

On Friday night, England recorded a 3-0 victory over Scotland in their World Cup qualifier at Wembley, with Lallana's netting either side of efforts from Daniel Sturridge and Gary Cahill.

If reports are correct, the win for the Three Lions will lead to Southgate being handed the job on a full-time basis and Lallana has admitted that the former Under-21 chief has brought "stability" to the national team since the departures of Roy Hodgson and Sam Allardyce.

The 28-year-old is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "He has given good stability. He has not had much time with us.

"It's not in our hands [whether Southgate is handed the job permanently], we just do as well as we can and tonight was a good three points."

The win for England has maintained their two-point lead at the top of Group F.
