England boss Roy Hodgson: 'Moldova will be hard to beat'

Hodgson expects Moldova test

England manager Roy Hodgson has insisted that his team will not go into tomorrow's World Cup qualifier against Moldova thinking that three points are on the cards.

The Three Lions defeated Moldova 5-0 in the reverse fixture in Chisinau back in September last year, but Hodgson is not taking anything for granted.

Following the Moldova clash, England will take on Ukraine on Tuesday in a bid to boost their chances of qualifying for the World Cup in Brazil next year.

"The four remaining games are of vital importance," Hodgson said in a press conference. "I don't quantify games as one being easy or one being hard.

"Moldova have proven very hard to beat and we know they will be hard to beat on Friday night and I will need my best players. I think we need 10 points. I think that would see us mathematically certain."

Southampton striker Rickie Lambert will start tomorrow's game following the withdrawal of Daniel Sturridge.
