Luther Blissett wants attacking lineup for England

Former England striker Luther Blissett wants to see Roy Hodgson use a forward three for England when they play Montenegro and Poland next week.

Former England striker Luther Blissett has said that Roy Hodgson should deploy his most attacking frontline possible for the Three Lions' crucial World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland.

Manager Hodgson has been criticised for not playing enough expansive football during his time at the helm of England's national side, especially in the recent goalless draw with Ukraine.

Blissett believes the England boss should try to use a front three of Danny Welbeck, Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney for the vital games.

"[I would] play all three of them, I would go for it because the one thing you have got to do in the first game is you've got to make sure you win on Friday against Montenegro because if you don't beat them you're on the back foot big style for the next game against Poland," Blissett told talkSPORT.

"I think you go for it all guns blazing with players in form, players on top of their game at the moment and who look like they're hungry for goals and are ready to score goals."

Victories against both Montenegro and Poland would see England secure a place in the finals in Brazil next year.
