Theo Walcott: 'I want to start as striker for England'

Theo Walcott has said that he wants to start up front for England if Wayne Rooney is deemed unfit for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Estonia on Friday.

The England captain has been struggling with an ankle injury and could be left out of the match.

"I know everyone would like to see me up front," Walcott told reporters.

"Playing there for England, that's what I want to do."

The 26-year-old has mainly played on the right wing for England, but has netted four times in nine appearances for Arsenal this season.
