Rooney backs Redknapp for England

Wayne Rooney has backed Harry Redknapp to be named as the next England manager.

Fabio Capello resigned on Wednesday evening after four years in charge.

"Gutted capello has quit," Rooney tweeted. "Good guy and top coach. Got to be english to replace him. Harry redknapp for me."

Tottenham Hotspur boss Redknapp is the current favourite to take over the national team.
