Roy Hodgson says that it would be a "good idea" to practise penalty shootouts if England's friendlies end in a draw.

England manager Roy Hodgson has said that it would be a "good idea" to practise penalty shootouts if his side's international friendlies end in a draw.

The Three Lions have lost six of their seven shootouts at major tournaments, including their exit to Italy at this summer's European Championships.

"It would be a good idea,'' Hodgson told BBC Radio 5Live's Sportsweek programme. "You might be able to agree with one of our opponents that 'if the game ends in a draw let's have a penalty shootout'."

As part of the FA's 150th birthday, England host Brazil (Februrary 6), Republic of Ireland (May 29) and Scotland (August 14) at Wembley and also travel to Rio de Janeiro to face Brazil (June 2).
