Roy Hodgson believes that any Englishman would be honoured to take the England job.

Roy Hodgson has said that any Englishman would be honoured to take the England job.

The position is currently vacant following Fabio Capello's resignation last month.

Hodgson previously implied in a radio interview that he was keen on the role, but has now clarified his comments.

"The direct question was 'If offered the England job, would you take it?'," the West Bromwich Albion boss said.

"My direct answer was as an Englishman you would need a good reason to turn it down."

West Brom are currently 14th in the Premier League with 36 points from 30 games.
