Roy Hodgson accepts an offer from the Football Association to become the new manager of England.

The Football Association have confirmed that Roy Hodgson has agreed to become the new manager of England.

The 64-year-old made the decision following two days of discussions with officials from the FA at Wembley Stadium.

Hodgson has agreed a four-year deal with the governing body, meaning that he will take the Three Lions to two European Championships and one World Cup.

It has also been confirmed that Hodgson will be allowed to finish the season with West Bromwich Albion, who have two Premier League matches remaining.

There are just six weeks until England play their opening match of Euro 2012 against France.

A press conference has been called for 4pm.
