Goal-line technology to feature in England's friendly against Belgium

Goal-line technology is due to be used in England's friendly against Belgium in two weeks' time.

The call for video technology has been sounded in recent years and while FIFA have claimed that it will take a substantial amount of time before it will be used in the Premier League on a regular basis, strides have been made into implementing the sought-after assistance.

It is understood that the goal-line system will be tested in England's friendly against Belgium on June 2, just nine days before the Three Lions' opening group game against France at Euro 2012, according to PA Sport.

The camera-based system, known as 'Hawk-Eye', will be trialled at Wembley by independent testers but the technology will not affect any decisions during the match and the data will not be accessed by match officials.
