Bevington: 'Long-term focus for new manager'

Managing director of Club England Adrian Bevington has admitted that the Football Association have a 'long-term strategy' when it comes to appointing the new England boss.

Bevington also stressed the need to provide a "platform" for future success.

"Everyone's focus is on [Euro 2012], and our objective is of course to recruit a manager, go to Poland and Ukraine, perform well and achieve success," Bevington told reporters.

"However there is a longer term strategy to this as well, in two years time there is a World Cup in Brazil, beyond that we have the Euros in France in 2016 and further World Cup in Russia in 2016 ... we need to ensure we are providing the best platform to achieve success."

Euro 2012 commences on June 8.
