Albrighton targets place in full England squad

Aston Villa winger Marc Albrighton has revealed that he hopes to perform for his club in order to be considered for the full national squad.

Albrighton played eight times for the England Under-21s and has recently recovered from a broken foot, with his next aim to work his way into England manager Roy Hodgson's plans.

"To play for your country is the best thing you can do as a professional sportsperson so for me to say that I've represented England at Under-21 level is great," TheFA.com quotes Albrighton as saying.

"Everyone has got ambitions of playing for England and hopefully I can do that in the future.

"I just need to concentrate on staying fit more than anything for now. But if I can get as many games in for Villa as possible and perform well then hopefully I'll give the England manager something to think about."

England's Under-21s face Serbia tomorrow night in the Euro 2013 playoff first leg.
