Cahill: 'Switzerland match will be hardest test'

England defender Gary Cahill believes that the national team have a chance to "bounce back" from a disappointing summer against Switzerland on Monday evening.

The Three Lions left the World Cup in Brazil without a win, but as they prepare to begin their qualification campaign for Euro 2016 in Basel in three days' time, Cahill has insisted that it is an opportunity to make a statement against their main rivals in the group.

The 28-year-old told reporters: "No disrespect to any of the other teams, but it is certainty one of the hardest games for us, and to be away from home only adds to that.

"I'm sure they will be confident, but it is a great opportunity for us to bounce back from what was a disappointing summer.

"We have worked hard in training, and after a few more days of preparation, we will go out there to give it our best shot."

Cahill is expected to be fit for the match despite picking up a knock in England's 1-0 win over Norway on Wednesday evening.
