Ruben Loftus-Cheek 'accepts Jose Mourinho criticism'

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has accepted the criticism that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho directed at him while on tour in Australia.

Mourinho accused the 19-year-old of playing below-par against Sydney FC, something which Loftus-Cheek has taken on board.

Speaking after England Under-21s beat Sweden 1-0, Loftus-Cheek told reporters: "I listened to what the manager said and I wasn't at the level.

"I need to do better if I want to play for Chelsea. For me that is a reminder that I have to work hard to get in the team."

Loftus-Cheek is the youngest member of Gareth Southgate's U21 squad at the European Championships.
