Cristian Sapunaru to leave Elche?

Elche are reportedly keen on selling experienced defender Cristian Sapunaru this summer despite his impressive performances last season.

The 30-year-old, who joined Elche last summer, proved to be one of his side's best performers in La Liga during the 2013-14 campaign.

However, according to Marca, Elche are no longer prepared to pay the defender's salary, which is significantly higher than a number of their current squad.

The Romanian has been linked with a return to former club Rapid Buchurest.
