Elche: 'Everton have not made Sanchez bid'

Elche president Jose Sepulcre has denied that Everton have submitted an official offer for Colombian midfielder Carlos Sanchez.

Interest in Sanchez has intensified following an impressive World Cup for Colombia, who made it to the quarter-finals of the competition this summer.

Everton have been linked with a move for the midfielder, but Sepulcre has insisted that the Spanish outfit have not received a bid for his services.

"We have no knowledge of any offer from Everton for Carlos Sanchez," he told ESPN.

"Moreover, not even the player, who is on holiday after playing in the World Cup, has contacted us to say something about it."

Sanchez reportedly has a release clause in the region of £4m.
