Tranquillo Barnetta eager to begin Eintracht Frankfurt career

Tranquillo Barnetta has revealed that he is eager to begin his season-long loan spell with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Swiss midfielder, who was reportedly a target for Crystal Palace, admits that moving to a new city 'excites' him after joining from Schalke 04.

"I am really excited that the transfer went through in the end as I am keen to learn more about my teammates, as well as the city of Frankfurt as soon as possible," the 28-year-old told the club's official website.

"First, I will be away on international duty with Switzerland, but I will be back in 10 days' time."

Barnetta has won 68 caps for Switzerland.
