Craig Curran could not turn down chance to play for Dundee United

Curran knows he will have to win over the fans.

Craig Curran did not think twice about crossing the road from Dundee United to Dundee once former Ross County boss Jim McIntyre gave him the chance.

The 29-year-old striker is set for his Dundee debut against Queen of the South in the William Hill Scottish Cup after a short spell at Tannadice, where he netted three goals in 16 Ladbrokes Championship matches.

Curran said: "As soon as I knew Jim was interested, and looking at the quality of the lads, I watched the game when they beat Hamilton 4-0, it was an easy decision. You can see in training everyone was up for the fight.

"Jim knows where I play and how I play, so I will be coming here to play in a way he wants to play, in my position, which is important. And I can't wait to get going."

Curran does not know whether Dundee fans will take to him immediately given his previous club but he is determined to win any sceptics round as the Premiership bottom club battle for survival.

"I don't know but one thing they won't be able to fault is how much I give on the pitch, and they will see that every minute I play," he said.

"If that is the case it's going to be up to me to win them over. But I'm here to do a job, I'm here to work as hard as I can, to score goals and help the lads and get the club back to where it belongs."
