Report: Sunderland in talks with John Souttar

A report claims that Sunderland want to sign Dundee United defender John Souttar.

Sunderland are reportedly in talks with Dundee United over a possible move for their highly-rated defender John Souttar.

Souttar, 17, who made his debut for the Scottish outfit as a 16-year-old, is regarded as one of the most talented youngsters in Scotland.

According to Sky Sports News, his performances have not gone unnoticed at the Stadium of Light, with club officials sounding out Dundee United over a move for the defender.

It is understood that a number of English clubs are also monitoring his development.
