Paul Paton extends Dundee United contract

Paul Paton has signed a contract extension with Dundee United.

The 27-year-old only arrived at the club last summer, but he has now committed his future to the Tannadice Park-based outfit until 2017.

"Paul has been the model of consistency since joining United. He has played a big part in helping us reach where we are and his desire and work rate are infectious - he deserves the security this extension brings," manager Jackie McNamara told the club's official website.

The club have also confirmed that winger Aidan Connolly has agreed to extend his deal.
