Ryan McGowan closing in on Dundee United move?

Former Hearts defender Ryan McGowan is reportedly on the verge of joining Dundee United.

The Australia international, 25, has spent the past two years playing for Chinese side Shandong Luneng Taishan.

McGowan is expected to sign a deal at Tannadice Park within the next 24 hours, according to BBC Sport.

His former clubs include Hearts, Ayr United and Partick Thistle.

McGowan has won a total of 12 caps for his country.
