Paul Dickov: 'Doncaster deserved to win'

Doncaster Rovers manager Paul Dickov says that his team did enough to win the game against Yeovil Town, even though they weren't at their best.

Paul Dickov has said that his players were worthy winners against Yeovil Town tonight in the Championship.

Donny went 1-0 ahead thanks to Dean Furman's goal but were pegged back just before half time when Byron Webster equalised. In the second half Furman was sent off but Mark Duffy struck late to seal a home win.

"I think we deserved the three points. I thought we started the game really brightly and I've got to give the boys a lot of credit. A lot of teams would have sat there and took the point with 10 men," Dickov told Sky Sports News.

Dickov also admitted that he was worried when Furman received his second yellow card of the match and said that the South African knows he made a mistake.

"It came at a point in the game when we were putting a lot of pressure on them, getting the ball wide and bodies in the box," he added. "Dean Furman knows he has been a little bit silly, but I thought our substitutes came on and gave us a bit more energy.

"I'm delighted to get the points. There's been times when we've played really well and not got our rewards."

Doncaster are now 18th in the league, five points above the relegation zone.
