Seeking consecutive MLS home victories for the first time this year, Dallas will welcome Los Angeles FC to Toyota Stadium in Frisco on Saturday evening.
The Toros are three points below the Western Conference playoff line following a 1-1 draw with Austin FC, while LA remain fifth despite a 2-0 win over the New England Revolution the last time out.
Match preview
At this stage of the 2025 regular season, dropped points loom large, and Dallas let a couple of critical ones slip away in the Texas capital.
With eight matches to go, they remain on the outside of the playoff picture, dropping 10 points domestically this year when leading after 45 minutes.
Toyota Stadium has not exactly been a fortress for them this season, with the Toros winning the joint-fewest MLS games at home in the Western Conference (three).
On the bright side, though, Eric Quill’s men have won two of their previous three home fixtures in this competition, collecting two clean sheets over that stretch.
Meanwhile, a win or draw this weekend would extend their unbeaten run in league play to three games, equalling their longest stretch without a defeat domestically this year.
Dallas have won their previous three MLS affairs at home versus LAFC, including a convincing 3-1 triumph in this exact fixture a year ago.
Los Angeles remain among the most consistent sides domestically of late, earning at least a point in six of their previous seven league encounters.
With 10 regular season matches to go, only six points separate Steve Cherundolo’s side from the Vancouver Whitecaps in third out West, while LA have two games in hand.
Unlikely as it may seem, if the Black and Gold can win their remaining league fixtures, they would reach the 70-point mark for only the second time in club history (72 points in 2019).
They are winless in their previous three MLS contests played in August, with their last domestic victory this month occurring in 2023 (4-0 against the Colorado Rapids).
The Black and Gold have won a mere three regular-season fixtures this year as the visiting team but have points in their last six away matches in this competition.
Coming into this weekend, they are winless in their last three league contests played in Texas and have not won a game in the Lone Star State since October 2023 (4-2 at Austin FC).

We say: Dallas 1-2 Los Angeles FC
It is desperation time for the Toros, who should come out determined for this game, but we have seen LAFC's attacking depth come through in recent outings, and we believe that will carry them to victory on Saturday.
